George Everroad, aged 84, died Sunday evening at 6 o’clock [October 19, 1919] at the home of his brother, William Everroad south of Hope. Death came from illness due to the infirmities of old age. He is survived by the widow The funeral was held this afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Moravian Church in Hope, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Pluck. Burial was made in the Moravian Cemetery. Vogler, Lewis Alexander – Obituary

Lewis A. Vogler, leading farmer and corn grower of Hawcreek Township for years, and prominently known throughout the state for his activities in civic, political and agricultural affairs of the county, passed away Monday evening at 5:20 o’clock at his home [June 4, 1928] on South Main Street. Had Mr. Vogler lived until next July 28, he would have celebrated his 89th birthday anniversary. Daughter of the late Noah and Melissa [Lee] Perry died Monday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Ora Hamblen in Clifford, age 45. She was born and reared in Clifford. Surviving are 2 brothers, James and Lyle; 4 sisters, Mrs. Harry Sims, Mrs. Ralph Heilman, Mrs. Dorcas Fishel and Mrs. Hamblen, all of Bartholomew County. Born in Bartholomew County in 1849, died Friday [August 18, 1921], age 71, while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Heilman, west of Hope. She was the widow of Noah Perry of Clifford who died 13 years ago. Other surviving daughters are Mrs. Harry Sims, Mrs. Ora Hamblen, Mrs. Dorcas Fishel of Pine River, Minnesota and Miss Nell Perry; 2 sons, James and John Lyle. The Columbus Republican, February 28, 1907. Thomas L. McQueen aged sixty-nine years, died at his home in Clifford at 9 o’clock last Monday [February 25, 1907] of a complication of diseases, after an illness of two years. The deceased is survived by a wife and three children–A. L. Ralph and Clara McQueen. He was born in Clifty township and spent his life in that and Flatrock townships. Noah Perry, a prominent and well known farmer, died at his home, one mile east of Clifford, this morning at 11 o’clock [August 2, 1908]. A complication of diseases, including acute stomach trouble, was the cause of death. The late Mr. Perry was about sixty-three years old and had been a resident of the Clifford neighborhood for the past forty years. Funeral services for Mrs. L. M. Homsher [Lewis Morland] will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Long officiating. Burial will be in the Hope, Indiana, Cemetery. [Arda married Lewis on April 19, 1899 in Bartholomew Co., IN. She was the daughter of Lewis Alexander Vogler and Roseltha Jane Lee. She was the mother of William, Mary, Alice, and Lewis. Arda died December 11, 1968 in Johnson Co., IN. Her body was removed to Bartholomew County. She is buried in the Hope Moravian Cemetery]. The death of Mrs. Sarah E. Cropper, age 65, occurred at her home in Washington township, one mile south of Flat Rock at 4:20 o’clock this morning [August 9, 1928]. Mrs. Cropper had been ill since March suffering from heart disease and dropsy. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Cherry, Mrs. Cropper was born in this county June 18, 1863. She was married to William Cropper March 20, 1887. To this union four children were born, two of whom, Mrs. Meryl Shoaf of near Hope and Mrs. Breanious McQueen of near Flat Rock, survive. Nancy Wilson Passwater was born to Jessie and Rebecca McClellan Wilson in Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana, July 17, 1828. At the age of sixteen she joined the Christian Church of that city during the pastorate of Brother Longly. On September 14, 1847, she was united in marriage to Samuel Passwater, who proceeded her in death October 8, 1896 in Bates County, Missouri. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Melvina White of Fremont, Iowa, and Mrs. Emeline Beckett, of Passaic, Missouri, both of whom are still living.
