Hofmann, Charles Edward – Obituary

Edward Hofmann, 66, of 2010 East N Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 21 at his home.

Mr. Hofmann was born November 24, 1910 at Preston, Idaho, the son of Fritz and Marie (Junker) Hofmann. On June 18, 1937, he was married to the former Velva B. Hammack at Lostine. For 20 years he owned and operated Inland Poultry & Feed Company. For the past few years he has been driving truck for Craig’s Cleaners.

He was a member of the La Grande Eagles Lodge Aerie no 259; La Grande Elks Lodge No. 433 and La Grande Lodge No. 41 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his wife Velva of La Grande; daughter, Mrs. Bob (Judy) Aldrich, La Grande; son Charles Hofmann, Portland; brothers; Fred Hofmann and John Hofmann, both of La Grande,; sisters, Emma Wren, Portland; Rose Lovan, Margaret Hutchinson and Mildred Baker, all of La Grande; two grandchildren, Dean and Kimi Aldrich; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Hart of the First Christian Church and La Grande Lodge 41 A.F. & A.M. officiating.

Concluding services followed at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
