Harry Snapp Called Suddenly By Death Following a brief attack of heart trouble, Harry Snapp, 55, died at the home of a sister in Baker Friday afternoon of last week. At the time of his death Mr. Snapp was in the employ of the Blue Mountain garage at La Grande and was probably the best known auto salesman in this section. Kirk V. McShane – Obituary

Kirk V. McShane, 52, formerly of LaGrande, died June 29 in Portland. A memorial service was conducted July 5. Mr. McShane was born Jan. 30, 1954, to Francis and Margaret McShane in Ontario, and graduated from La Grande High School in 1974. He moved to Portland, where he worked for several music warehouses and stores. He graduated from Portland State University and became a distribution manager for Graybar Electric. He married Denise P. Belanger in 1984. Survivors include his wife; his mother of La Grande; brothers, Brian, Michael, Jeffrey and Gregory; sisters, Rebecca and Maureen; and other relatives. His father … Read more

Kirby, Werle – Obituary

Werle, the young son of Dr. and Mrs. Kirby, died July 14, 1906, from cholera infantum. Everything was done to save the life of the little one but to no avail. Werle was a bright eyed golden haired little fellow 2 years, 11 months and 24 days old, and his parents deeply grieve his loss and have the sympathy of the entire community. Kippes, Joseph – Obituary

Miner Killed When Cable Breaks Joseph Kippes was killed in a fall of 700 feet at the Queen of the West mine near Cornucopia last Thursday afternoon at about 4 o’clock. He is survived by a widow and three small children. The body was crushed almost beyond recognition, and was recovered from the bottom of a deep canyon where it fell. Mrs. Carl Kinion died last Saturday night at her home, death resulting from tuberculosis from which she had been a sufferer for many years. The family have been occupying a small home on the York ranch for several months. The deceased is survived by her husband and two sons. Lloyd was born May 15, 1921, to William and Grace Cormican Kincade in Menomonie, Wis. Those who knew him considered Lloyd a man of many talents. He served in North Africa and Italy during World War II. Following the war, he married Patricia Workinger. The couple had eight children. Cove, Oregon Jimmie Duane Kimball Sr Jimmie Duane Kimball Sr., 76, of Cove died Feb. 19 of age-related causes. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Union LDS Church. Mr. Kimball was born Feb. 17, 1931, to Milo and Bernice Kimball in Backus, Minn. He and his wife, Linda, were married Oct. 10, 1981. He retired as a truck driver in the early 1990s. Island City, Union County, Oregon Mrs. Merton W. Kiddle of Island City, died suddenly Monday morning at her home. The funeral was held Wednesday and interment was in the Island City Cemetery. Mrs. Kiddle was formerly Miss Jessie Wade and she was born near Summerville in 1885. Her parents were among the first settlers in Grande Ronde valley. On Friday last, Mayor Kennedy received the sad news from Monmouth, Polk county, that his father, Mordecal Kennedy, had died after a short illness. Mayor Kennedy was absent when the telegram announcing the serious illness of his father reached here, and on returning home from Elgin, telegraphed to ascertain his condition.
