Paul, Jean Eliza Schnebly – Obituary

Native Ellensburg resident Jean E. Paul, 95, died Wednesday [November 3, 1982] at Gold Leaf Nursing Home where she had lived for the past seven years. She was born Feb. 14, 1887-a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Schnebly. She attended local schools, Ellensburg Normal School and obtained a registered nursing degree from Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Ore. She and John H. Paul were married in Ellensburg on Sept. 3, 1912. Except for seven years, when they homesteaded in Alberta, Canada, the couple made their home in the Ellensburg area, Mr. Paul died May 19, 1975. … Read more

Mrs. Ada Parsel, 80, at 505½ North Poplar, Ellensburg, died Sunday, Nov. 5 [1972], in Gold Leaf Convalescent Center. Mrs. Parsel was born in Ellensburg, daughter of pioneer parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayt Grewell. She and Harry Parsel were married in 1920 at Ellensburg. He died in 1971. She was a member of Thorp Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Harry T. Mrs. Orilla Fogarty Parker, 49, a native of Ellensburg, died at her home at 608 North Ruby Street last night [November 23, 1948] following an illness of two months. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Parker, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Fogarty, Kittitas Valley pioneers, was born here in 1899. She married her husband, Fred C. Mary Ann Page, 85, died Thursday [October 26, 1978] at a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 10, 1893 at Getchell, Wash. She and Alfred O. Page were married in Seattle on September 24, 1912. They came to the Ellensburg area in 1919 and farmed on Route 3. Following the death of Mr. Page in April, 1964, she moved to town and made her home at 312 North Anderson until entering the nursing home. Funeral services will be held in the Evenson Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday for Alfred O. Page, 73, a longtime Park District farmer who died Wednesday [April 15, 1964] at the Ellensburg General Hospital. The Rev. C. M. Strong will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. Mr. Page was born in Seattle and married Mary Wooding. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Edwin, Ellensburg, Myron, White Salmon, and Robert, Annette, Alaska; a daughter, Mrs. Viola Christian, Ellensburg, 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Harvey Packwood, 74, member of a pioneer Kittitas Valley family, died Tuesday in a Seattle Hospital. He had been in ill health for the past year. Packwood was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Packwood who came to the Kittitas Valley in 1874. He and his twin brother, the late Harry Packwood, were born here in April 1882. Mrs. Sarah Yale Olmstead of 801 East Summer Street died at her home about noon yesterday [September 16, 1918]. Mrs. Olmstead was born at Saratoga Springs, New York, December 25, 1841. She moved with her family to Oregon in 1870, where she lived for four years, when she went to Seattle and later came to Kittitas Valley and settled on a farm about five miles southeast of Ellensburg.
