Grandma Fisher [wife of James R. Fisher] died at her home [November 5, 1898] in this city last Saturday morning at 7 o’clock,, at the advanced age of 81 years. Mrs. Fisher was born in New York in 1817; and at an early age moved to Switzerland County, Indiana.
In 1877 she moved to Harper County and has been a resident ever since. The deceased leaves two sons, residents of Indiana, and two daughters, Mrs. M. D. Lee and Miss Fannie Fisher and a son, James Fisher of this city.
The funeral was held at the family residence Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev. Edwards, of the Baptist Church and Rev. McClain of the Congregational Church officiating.
The services were attended by a number of the friends of the family and the interment was in Forest Park Cemetery. Grandma Fisher was one of the oldest of our citizens and had many friends here who will with the family mourn her death.
