Oliver Earl Boeve, 54, of Wallowa Lake died April 15, 2005, at home.
He was born June 7, 1950, in Portland, the son of the late Kenneth Gerald Boeve and Mary Lou Atkinson Boeve. He grew up in Tigard and Sherwood, graduating from Sherwood High School in 1969.
Boeve served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne in 1970-71.
He was married to Keithanne Hastings in 1973. He was self-employed all of his life from 1971 in construction and restaurant businesses. The Boeves have owned the general store at Wallowa Lake, which they renamed Bouve’s General Store and Pub, since 1991.
He was a member of the OFMC (Old Farts Mountain Climbers), and enjoyed hiking, climbing, hiking and his dogs. He considered his children, his family and his friends his greatest accomplishment.
Survivors include his wife, Keithanne Boeve; daughters and sons-in-laws, Kasey Diane Bouve-Russell and Justin Russell, and Kasey Nicole Boeve and Jacob Wright; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and John Nyberg, Kathleen Boeve and Jim Stonebridge, Eileen and David Nelson and Karen and Robert Andrews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew and Ngozi Nkonghi, Ric and Nina Crone, Ed and Lisa Hastings and Dr. David and Annette Hastings; father-in-law Robert E. Gannon and Helen Thornton; sisters-in-law Cheryl Brown and Linda Hulsey; aunts Jean Atkinson and Thurma Clatterbuck.
Other survivors include all his cousins, nieces and nephew and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Earlus C. (Kay) Gannon.
No memorial service has been announced. Cremation was planned.
