Baker City, Oregon
Charles W. “Ozzie” Osborn, 71, of Baker City, died July 4, 2001, at his home.
His memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Coles-Strommer Funeral Home, 1950 Place St.
Mr. Osborn was born Oct. 5, 1926, at La Grande to Iran and Floea (Bingaman) Osborn. He was raised in La Grande and in Fresno, Calif.
Mr. Osborn married Gloria A. Keider on Feb. 17, 1962, in Las Vegas. He moved to Baker City in 1971 from California. He worked at various photography businesses until he started his own in 1974, “Photo by Ozzie.”
He had the opportunity to meet Baker High School’s graduating classes in the late 1970s while taking their senior portraits for the Baker Senior High yearbooks. He took numerous photos of Baker City and the surrounding area.
He then went into the property management field, where he traveled and managed properties in Washington, Oregon and California before retiring and coming back to Baker City. He enjoyed taking photographs of his family and fishing the local rivers.
Mr. Osborn is survived by his wife, Gloria Osborn, Baker City; daughter and son-in-law, Toni M. and Dennis Wood of Carlinville, Ill.; a daughter, Terri M. Mitchell of Missouri; a son, Dean W. Osborn and family of Hermiston; a daughter, Kim D. Lawrence and family of Kuna, Idaho; a sister, Aloha Stanford of Eureka, Calif.; and stepsons, David Prcheco and Randolph Austin of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
