Boyer, Martha Grace Racey Mrs. – Obituary

Martha Grace Boyer, 80, a former Baker County resident, died Nov. 5, 2001, at Good Shepard Hospital at Hermiston.

Her funeral was Nov. 9 at Driskill Memorial Chapel at John Day. Interment was at the Prairie City Cemetery.

Mrs. Boyer was born on July 20, 1921, at Youngstown, Ohio, to Alexander and Catherine Bubelenyi Racey. As a youngster, she rode five miles to school on horseback and drove cattle on foot.

She attended grade school at Malheur City and completed high school in three years at Hereford.

She married Paul Boyer on Sept. 9, 1939, at Hereford. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, reading, hunting, rock hounding and gardening.

Survivors include her son, Richard Boyer of Irrigon; two daughters, Pauline Ordyno of Pendleton and Leslie Tuttle of Woodside, Calif; her sister, Helen Liddiard of Boise; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, an infant sister and an infant granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
