Emmons, Earl William- Obituary

Memorial services for Earl William Emmons who passed away at Wallowa Memorial Hospital Wednesday evening, May 22, 1963, were Friday at 2p.m. at the Bollman Chapel with the Rev. James Jones officiating and with Mrs. Arthur Maasdam as organist. Arnold Juve, soloist, sang: “In The Garden” and ” The Old Rugged Cross”.

Casket bearers were: Harold Ray, Wilson Wilde, Elmer Trump, Omar Hays, Stone Butner, and Walter Dutli, and burial was in the Enterprise cemetery beside the grave of his wife who passed away March 19, 1943.

The deceased was born at Enterprise December 28, 1897, son of Leonard B. Emmons, and Ivy Bloom Emmons, and lived in Wallowa county al of his life. He was married May 8, 1918 at Enterprise to Elsie Ruth Neal. He was a farmer by occupation but because of ill health for the past two years, he had retired. He had been a hospital patient for six weeks.

He leaves three daughters: Mrs.. Gerald (Marjorie) Wilson of Yakima, Wash., Mrs.. Don (Jeraldine) Williams of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs.. Leland (Wanda) Fisher, of Beaverton, Ore., two brothers; Lester, of LaGrande, and Milford, of Enterprise; three sisters: Mrs.. Floyd (Macel) Reece, Hailey, Ida., Mrs.. Earl (Vivian) Hovis, Joseph, and Mrs.. Cleo (Mildred) Santose, Alicel; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Among those who came for the funeral services were the three daughters and their husbands, Mr.. and Mrs.. Lester Emmons and Mr.. and Mrs.. Cleo Santose.
