1851 York Canada Directory

A Village situated on the Grand River, in the Township of Seneca and County of Haldimand, C. W. distant from Hamilton, 19 miles usual stage fare from York to Caledonia, 1s. 3d. usual stage fare from Caledonia to Hamilton, 2s. 6d. steamboat to Brantford, 5s., and to Buffalo, 7s. 6d. Population about 250.
