Walter R. Nading, age 67, lifelong resident of Shelby County, dropped dead while at work Friday at the elevator in Lewis Creek. He had been in failing health and a heart attack was the cause of death.
Mr. Nading was born in Shelby County in 1877, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nading. He had spent his entire life in the Flat Rock and Lewis Creek communities. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Norristown.
Survivors include four children; Mrs. H.O. Emerick and Ralph Nading, of Lewis Creek; Mrs. Choice Bartlett, of Brook, and Mrs. Madge Swinford, of near Hope. Also surviving is a brother, Martin Nading, of Flat Rock. Five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Flat Rock Methodist Church. Burial in charge of Loren H. Murphy will be in the St. George Cemetery. Friends may call at the Murphy funeral home after 4:00 p.m. today and until the hour of the services.
