Bowman, Arthur – Obituary

Arthur W. Bowman, 79, of 8726 Newgrove Ave. S.W., died in a local hospital Monday. He was born in Trempealeau, Wis. Mr. Bowman had lived here 43 years. He was a retired Tacoma Transit Co. employee. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Motor Coach Employees’ Union. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary Gordon of Tacoma and Mrs. Ida Wakefield of Parkwood; three sons, Charles R. of Coulee Dam and George and Arthur of Tacoma; nine grandchildren and a brother, George of Pierre, S.D. Enbysk, Alice Clara Freiherr – Obituary

Alice Freiherr Enbysk, a southwest Portland resident, died March 26 of causes related to age. She was 87. At her request, there was no funeral. Mrs. Enbysk was born June 6, 1906, in Antigo, Wis., and moved to Portland as an infant. Her maiden name was Freiherr. She married Elmer Enbysk in 1927. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Oregon Normal School, now Western Oregon State College. Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor Morrison of Lake Oswego; a friend, Frank Hussong of Portland; and three grandchildren. Disposition was by cremation. Contributed by: Shelli Steedman

Mrs. Mildred Phillippe, 67, of LaCrosse, WI, formerly of Ottumwa died Saturday [December 27, 1969] in LaCrosse. She had been ill four months. She was the daughter of A. X. and Effie Sprague Swenson and was born Feb. 9, 1902 in Ottumwa, and resided there until moving to LaCrosse in 1954. She married Roi Phillippe in 1923 in Ottumwa, he survives, as does a son Gene W. of Milwaukee, one daughter Mrs. Carol Hackner of LaCrosse, five grandchildren and one brother Norman Swenson, and father A. Lucille L. Lundstrom, 76, an Aberdeen resident since 1979, died Tuesday March 27, 1990 at a local nursing home. She was born May 17, 1913. (Really June), in Ellensburg. She married Fred Lundstrom in 1939 at Ellensburg where they farmed for 14 years. He survives at the family home in Aberdeen. They lived in Stitzer, Wisconsin, where they farmed for nine years before returning to Ellensburg. They moved to Aberdeen from Ellensburg. George O’Brien, 72, a pioneer Washington state resident and a resident of this city and area for the past 40 years, died this morning at the Valley General hospital [January 30, 1951]. Mrs. May Hayes, the wife of Harry Hayes who has lived in the valley for many years, recently being employed by the county, died Tuesday morning [December 1, 1925] from pneumonia, having been ill less than two weeks. Samuel Indermuhle, 80, retired Badger Pocket and Denmark District farmer, died Thursday at Bernath’s Nursing Home. Born July 31, 1888, at Monroe, Wis., he came to the Kittitas Valley with his parents at the age of one year. Toppenish residents were shocked to learn early this week of the death of Sheriff Lew Evans. Mr. Evans who lived on a ranch near Buena was for a number of years a community leader in Toppenish.
