Deadoses Tribe
The Deadoses Indians were a small tribe in Texas during the 18th century, residing near the San Xavier River. By 1767-68, they were located between the Navasota and Trinity Rivers and were associated with other northern Texas tribes such as the Tonkawa and Comanche. There is speculation about a linguistic connection to the Tonkawa. The Deadoses likely faced extinction due to an epidemic that affected many Texas tribes in 1777-78.
