Yocom, Joseph – Obituary

Joe Yocom, aged 22, passed away [October 6, 1910] yesterday morning in Okanogan after a six weeks’ siege of typhoid fever. The deceased is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron [Myam] Yocom of the Colockom and was a brother of Mrs. Edward Dennis. His father, mother, and sister, Mrs. Moore, of Portland, were with him when the end came and the remains were brought down the river today for interment. Leota Lotta Yocom, 72, of 718 N. Sixth Ave., Yakima, who received head injuries when she fell to pavement after being hit by a car at Third and West Yakima Avenues, Yakima, Friday morning, died Sunday [August 31, 1980] at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in 1898 in Tokio, ND [MN], to Oscar and Odessa Patterson. She and Chester Yocom were married in Wenatchee; he preceded her in death. Yocom, Earl William – Obituary

Twisp–Earl William Yocom, 49, a former resident of the Wenatchee area and late of Twisp, died in a Tacoma hospital Monday [April 26, 1965] following a brief illness. Born in Malaga, Feb. 3, 1916, he lived in the Colockum and Wenatchee areas until moving with his family to Twisp in 1931. He served in the Army during World War II and following his discharge resided in Wenatchee and Twisp. He had been in Tacoma six months. Surviving is one brother, Joe Yocom, Twisp. Mrs. Brian Yocum [Byam Yocom], a former pioneer resident of the West Side, died December 7 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Jesse [Edward] Dennis, in Wenatchee, according to word received. Mrs. Yocum was 90 years old November 25. She lived in the Kittitas Valley for many years before moving to Wenatchee. Burial was in Wenatchee. Yocom, Ward Alva – Obituary

Ward Alva Yocom, 80, died Wednesday [October 27, 1982] in a Reno hospital. A native of Ellensburg, Wash., he was born June 28, 1902. He served in the Army during World War II. From 1951 to 1964, he lived in Port Orchard, Wash., with his family. He was an electrician for I.B.E.W. in Seattle, Wash., traveling extensively throughout the U.S. In 1964 he moved to Reno, though he continued to travel. Born Dec. 31, 1892 in Ellensburg, Wash. Passed away Nov. 1, 1974 in Seattle, Wash., at the age of 81. He operated a farm at Colockum Creek outside of Wenatchee, Wash., for many years. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War I. In 1940 he moved to Alderwood Manor, and later to Edmonds, where he operated his own ranch until 1948. Mrs. Leota Yocom, 62, of 1121 Cashmere Street and long-time Wenatchee resident, died in a local hospital Sunday morning [October 24, 1952] following an illness of four weeks. She was born January 12, 1892 at Van Wert, Ohio, and she resided in Ohio until 16 years of age when she came with her sister to Wenatchee in 1908.
