Biographical Sketch of Dr. George Shimoon
Gertrude Whitman, born July 11, 1879, in the Cherokee Nation, was educated at local public schools and graduated from the Female Seminary in 1897. She married Dr. George Shimoon, a dentist from Persia, on March 24, 1908. They had one daughter, Miriam, born August 14, 1912. Gertrude passed away on April 11, 1906. Dr. Shimoon’s educational background includes degrees from Missionary College and Indiana Dental College, marking a notable path in his professional life.
