Andrew J. Shetterly, born on December 23, 1865, in Jackson Township, Indiana, has been a prominent figure in the elevator business since 1896. He is part of a well-respected family with deep roots in the area, linked to both agriculture and the Methodist Episcopal Church. Educated and initially a schoolteacher, he later co-founded Shetterly Brothers, a successful milling and elevator enterprise in Lapel.
