Puck

James Puck, born in Germany in 1835, immigrated to America in 1853 and initially settled in Davenport, Iowa. In 1869, he moved to Sioux City, where he began farming and later became a proprietor at the Chicago House for three years. In 1881, Puck established the Davenport House, a brick structure furnished at a cost of $5,000, complete with a barn, located on 4th Street between Virginia and Court Streets.
