Early Residents of Benton, Montana

Prominent among the citizens of Benton and Montana is John M. Boardman, a native of Illinois, where he was born on Dec. 2, 1855. He received a commercial training in the great wholesale house of Marshall, Field, & Co., of Chicago, where he held a responsible position for several years. In 1879 he removed to Montana, where he engaged in the cattle business in the vicinity of Fort Benton. The manuscript was divided into two volumes. This volume, numbered 2, provides biographical sketches of 348 leading men and women of the County of Adair including many of its founding families. Summerville, Oregon Eugene Richard Power Eugene Richard Power, 78, of Summerville, died Sunday at a foster care home. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Mr. Power was born March 25, 1928, to Mason E. and Lennett E. Moorlock Power in California. He had a brain disorder from the age of 7, but loved collecting various belt buckles, playing baseball with his brothers, eating candy and bowling, and he was bat boy for his brother’s team.
