1st Class Private, Ordnance Dept. Born in Orange County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Pickard. Husband of Mrs. Myrtle Pickard. Entered the service June 20, 1916, at Hillsboro, N.C. Was sent to Camp Sevier, S. C. Served throughout entire period of war with Ordnance Dept. Mustered out at Camp Sevier, S. C., April 18, 1919. Served on Mexican border six months.
