Biographical Sketch of John Northcut

John Northcut, a Kentucky native, settled by Charrette Creek in 1820 with his wife Jane Trimble. A dedicated Methodist, he often preached in his own distinctive manner. Northcut had three daughters and opposed their marriages, even restricting their ability to write. Despite his efforts, all his children eventually wed: Elizabeth to Mr. Keithey, George to Kitty Welch, John to Kitty Kite, Polly to Nathan Keithley, and Joseph E. to Miss Welch, among others. He had several sons as well, including Stemmons.
