Millering, Della (Kindred) – Obituary

Della Millering, aged 90, passed away on Wednesday at Valley View Manor in La Grande. Born on December 2, 1892, in Perry, Missouri, she moved to the Grande Ronde Valley in 1905 and married Frank Earl Millering in 1914. She is predeceased by her husband and a son. A member of the First Christian Church, she is survived by her daughter, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Millering, Frances

Frances M. Millering, 93, of Hillsboro, passed away on November 15, 1989, at Forest View Care Center. Born on April 16, 1896, in Five Points, Ore., she was the daughter of pioneer residents John and Minnie Banks Hills. After marrying Jay M. Millering in 1917, she became a school teacher and later held various positions, including deputy sheriff and bank teller. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Rundell, and nephew, Keith Bryant, she will be remembered for her love of pets. Graveside services were held at Island City Cemetery.

Millering, Grant Elwin – Obituary

Grant E. Millering, 49, passed away on July 10th at Alpine Meadows Golf Course in Oregon. Born on November 4, 1922, in La Grande, he served as a Lt. Commander in the Navy after graduating high school and attending Eastern Oregon College. Millering married Bernadine Hungerford in 1948 and later acquired the La Grande Dental Lab. An active community member, he served on the City Commission and enjoyed various outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife, daughters, and other family members. Funeral services are scheduled for July 13th.

Millering, Katherine Ann – Obituary

Katherine Ann Millering passed away at her home on Tuesday night following a brief illness. Born on April 12, 1865, in Jersey County, Illinois, she spent 51 years in the Grande Ronde Valley. Mrs. Millering was married to John Henry Millering in 1883; he predeceased her in 1921. She is survived by five children and two brothers, alongside twelve grandchildren. Her funeral will be held at Snodgrass and Zimmerman funeral home, followed by burial at Island City cemetery, conducted by Roy Titus of her Christian church.

Born on June 23, 1923, in North Powder, she was raised in La Grande and married Henry Millering in 1940. She worked at Rexall Drug Store until her retirement in 1985. Survivors include her son Farrold, daughter Judy, six grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and two brothers and two sisters.

Marjorie Cinda Millering, 63, formerly of La Grande, passed away on May 6, 1987, at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. Born June 23, 1923, in North Powder, she married Henry Millering in 1940. A longtime clerk at Glass Drug Store, she was active in the La Grande First Christian Church. She is survived by her son Farrold, daughter Judy, two brothers, two sisters, six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. The graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, officiated by Jack Hart.
