Meierkord

Henry J. Meierkord, vice president and cashier of the Exchange State Bank of Linn, Kansas, emigrated from Germany in 1887, embarking on a journey from humble beginnings to prominent local businessman. Born in 1871 near Bremen, he worked as a farmer before joining the bank as a bookkeeper in 1892, swiftly rising through the ranks to manage the institution for over two decades. A respected community figure, Meierkord actively participated in local governance and several business ventures, while remaining politically independent. He married Sophia A. Raven in 1898.
