Louis; vice consul for Sweden; born in Umea, Sweden, Dec. 15, 1850; son of John August and Augusta Sophia Wahlin Malm; educated in Government schools and College of Umea; married, Dec. 15, 1874, Miss Wilhelmina Peterson; issue, seven children; went to sea as an apprenticed seaman; promoted to 2nd mate; spent four years at sea; on returning to Sweden, engaged in ship chandlery for one year; in 1872, came to the U.
