Summerville, Union County, Oregon Mrs. Oleene Hug was born April 20th, 1832, in Slewswig, Sweswig Holstein, Germany. She was married to John Hug September (?), 1856, and would soon have celebrated their Golden Wedding. There was born to them nine children, five of them are still living. She had always been a true and faithful wife and loving mother. She died April 5th, 1904, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 17 days. Rudolph Hug, a well-known and pioneer resident of this county, died suddenly at his house on Pumpkin ridge Tuesday July 25, 1905. Funeral services for Mary Marie Hug, 68, of Elgin will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Summerville Chapel. William E. Miller, pastor of the Elgin Christian Church will officiate, and burial will be in Summerville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dempsey’s Funeral chapel.
