R. CLARENCE HOLLINS was born September 22, 1851, in Todd County, Ky.; he was raised in Montgomery County, Tenn.; he is the eldest of five children born to S. P. and P. F. (Knott) Hollins. The parents were born in Virginia. The father was born September 5, 1822. The mother was born in 1832. They are now living on their farm in Montgomery County, Tenn.; there the subject of our sketch was raised and remained until his marriage, which event occurred November 20, 1879, to Victoria Cole, a native of Mount Pleasant, Va. This union is blessed with two sons.
R. T. HOLLINS was born December 4, 1832, in Louisa County, Va.; he is the fifth son of a family of seven children born to Richard and Susan (Higgason) Hollins, of the same county and State. The father was born in 1790; he died in 1880, aged eighty-eight. The mother was born in 1801, and died in 1844, aged forty-three years. In 1837 the family came to Todd County, and settled on a farm where Hadensville is now situated. Mr. Hollins donated land to the railroad for depot purposes, etc., and laid out the town.
