Wallowa, Oregon Phyllis Anne Courtnay, a long-time Wallowa County resident, died Jan. 29, 2007, in Union. She was 74. Mrs. Courtnay was born Sept. 10, 1932, to Ernest and Florence Eastman in Adrian. She was raised in the Adrian area and graduated from Adrian High School in 1950. On April 12, 1953, she married Clinton Courtnay. They lived in California while Mr. Courtnay was in the Navy, then moved to Idaho, and later to Wallowa where they raised four children. Doris Letha Courtney, 78, of Burns and formerly of Union and Wallowa counties died March 28. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday April 1 at LaFollette Chapel, 332 W. Monroe St., Burns. Lostine, Oregon Lowell Marvin Courtney died Aug. 14, 2007, at Alpine House in Joseph of natural causes. He was 92. Mr. Courtney was born April 5, 1915, in Lostine to Edith Pearl Shelts and Harley M. Courtney. On March 30, 1935, he married Gladys M. Bowen in Baker City. The couple lived and worked on the family farm then bought a part of it. Mr. Courtney worked as a farmer, carpenter and mechanic. The farm became a century farm in 1997. In 2001 they sold the farm after 86 years and moved to Enterprise.
