Biographical Sketch of Fred W. Conly

Fred W. Conly, born on August 29, 1828, in North Carolina, moved to Georgia as a child. He relocated to Texas in 1852, marrying Zilpha Peacock in 1857, with whom he had one child before her early death. He then wed Mary Hancock, with whom he had seven children, four of whom survive. After her passing, he married her sister, and they had three children, two still living. Conly serves as the postmaster at Evans Point, is a devout Methodist, and has led an honest life.
