Rufus G. Badger

RUFUS G. BADGER of Norwich, Vt., the son of Nathan and Lucy (George) Badger, was b. in 1824. Came to Cornish about 1849; m. April 9, 1850, Clarissa B. Burr of Cornish, dau. of Ebenezer and Mary (Hall) Burr, b. July 26, 1826. He was a tailor for a time. Spent most of the remainder of his life in town. He d. June 5, 1882. The subject of this short sketch, George Washington Badgerow, very properly ranks among that younger class of Ontario’s deserving men, just entering public life, but whose previous career, though brief, gives promise of ultimate success. He is a native of the Province, and was born on the 28th of May, 1841, in the township of Markham. His parents were Martin and Elizabeth (Harrington) Badgerow.
