La Grande, Union County, Oregon Roy (Big Smoke) Jordan, of 1808 Third St., died Saturday, March 1, at his home. Mr. Jordan was a retired Union Pacific Railroad engineer. He was 66. Mr. Jordan, was born April 9, 1913 at Scranton, Ark., the son of George and Rachel (Keimmamer) Jordan. On June 2, 1933, he was married to Catherine Kaup at Stillwater, Okla., They moved to La Grande in 1939. Floyd Ray Hill, Secretary and manager of the Muskogee Home Building Company, was born in Barton County, Missouri, March 11, 1888. He obtained a public school education and in his youth was employed in connection with horse racing. He was afterward with an importer of horses for a period of years and sold fine stock. Anderson Wilson, farmer and contractor, residing two and one-half miles southwest of Delaware, Nowata County, was born on the Verdigris River, Indian Territory, on the 11th of February, 1888, a son of Adam and Amanda (Bascumb) Wilson, natives of Kansas. His father was three-quarters Muncie Indian and the mother was a Delaware. Upon the outbreak of the Civil war, Adam Wilson enlisted in the cavalry, becoming a member of Company Three, Fifteenth Regiment, Kansas Volunteers. He was likewise a scout with Custer.
