Transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for Calais, France, May 31, 1918. Promoted to rank of Btn. Sergt. Maj. May 20th. Fought at So. of Ypres July 7-16 to Aug. 4, 1918; Nauroy Sector, Beaurevoir Sector, Somme offensive Nov. 1 to Nov. 11, 1918; Canal Sector. Transferred to Hdqrs. Co., 159th Inf., from 2nd Corps, Hdqrs. Replacement Depot. Returned to USA March 22, 1919, at New York. Mustered out at Presidio, Cal., May 2, 1919.
