C., and from there to Camp Merritt. Sailed for France May, 1918. Promoted to Corpl. August, 1917, and to Sergt. September, 1917. Fought at Ypres, Hindenburg Line, St. Quentin. Gassed at Vaux-Andigny Oct. 7, 1918. Recommended for commission. Mustered out at Camp Jackson, S. C., April 17, 1919.
