Transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C., Sept. 20, 1917. Sailed for France, May 11, 1918. Promoted to rank of Corpl. Fought at Ypres, Bellicourt and Hindenburg Line. Killed at Hindenburg drive Sept. 29, 1918. On border nine months; railroad guard duty three months. Bought one $50 Liberty Bond.
