Private, Inf., Co. D, 41st Div.; of Columbus County; son of Andrew and Renee Russ. Husband of Molsie Folk Russ. Entered service June 5, 1917, at Whitesville. Sent to Ft. Thomas, Ky., transferred to Gettysburg, Pa., from there to Camp Merritt. Sailed for France May, 1918. A. J. Russ, his grandfather, was in Civil War. Returned to USA February, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., March 12, 1919.
