Entered service May 2, 1917, at Mount Airy, N.C., and sent to Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., May 2, 1917. Transferred to Camp Jackson, S. C., Aug. 29, 1917. Sailed for France Jan. 12, 1918. Promoted to rank of 2nd Lt. Aug. 15, 1917. On Nov. 1, 1917, was promoted to 1st Lt. Promoted to rank of Capt. Feb. 13, 1919. Returned to USA July 9, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., Aug. 7, 1920.
