Cooke, Loise Mae Yocom – Obituary

Mrs. Lois Yocum Cooke, 86, a pioneer of the Colockum and Wenatchee Valley, passed away following a brief illness. Born on July 26, 1862, in Rochester, Minnesota, she moved to Ellensburg as a child and became one of the first school teachers in the Kittitas Valley. She married Edwin N. Cooke in 1880 and later homesteaded in Entiat. Mrs. Cooke is survived by one son and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Jones and Jones Chapel, with burial in Wenatchee Cemetery.

Fisher, Sarah J. – Obituary

Sarah J. Fisher, a pioneer of Oregon, passed away at her home on February 9, 1937, at the age of 77. Born in Sullivan County, Missouri, she crossed the plains to Oregon in 1864. She married Enos Fisher in 1876, raising seven children on their farm near Summerville until 1926, when she moved to La Grande. Following a prolonged illness, she is survived by five children, nine grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services are scheduled for February 11 at Summerville chapel.
