Dale Childers, 57, of Milton-Freewater, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 1988, at his home. At Childers’ request there will be no funeral service. He was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Wallowa, to Cecil and Thelma Crow Childers. He grew up in the Wallowa Valley and graduated from Joseph High School in 1949. He attended Moler Barber College at Portland, graduating in 1950. Childers owned and operated barbershops at Klamath Falls and Arlington before moving to the Milton-Freewater area in the late 1960s. Pioneer of 1865 Dies Friday At Hermiston, Ore Benjamin See, about 88 years of age and a pioneer of the Grande Rhonde valley of 1865, died Friday at Hermiston, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Arthur. He moved to Hermiston from La Grande about two years ago. Funeral services will be held at the Summerville Chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in the family plot. Baker City, Oregon Jay Fullerton Jr., 83, died Nov. 29, 2004 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise due to injuries sustained after a fall. A graveside inurnment was today at Mount Hope Cemetery. Cove, Oregon Jacklyn L. Grape Thompson, 67, of Pendleton and formerly of Cove died July 4 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon Ruby P. Collins, 90, formerly of Joseph and Athena, died Monday, October 19, 1987 at Hillsboro. She was born April 10, 1897, at Athena, the daughter of Bern and Mary Pinkerton Banister. She was a member of Athena High School’s first graduating class. In 1916, she married Ross Payne.
