Jessie Klinge of 1390 Oak Drive, Eugene, died February 23, 1969. She was born June 11, 1895 in Scio, Oregon and had been a resident of this community for the past 2 years. Wife of George; mother of Earl of Eugene, Merle of Albany, and Mrs. Wayne (Mary) Holst of Albany; sister of George Dane Bilyeu of Lebanon and Byron Bilyeu of Kingston, Washington; 7 children; numerous nieces and nephews. JOHN T. REDMAN. – The subject of this sketch was born in Linn county, Oregon, January 3, 1856. He is the second son of B.W. Redman, who was a prominent citizen of that county, and a staunch Union man, who upheld the old flag during the early part of the sixties, when it required more than ordinary courage to take that stand. Bilyeu, George Franklin – Obituary

At the residence of his parents, in Scio, on Saturday, December 13, 1890, George Franklin Bilyeu, aged 30 years. The immediate cause of his death was hemorrhage of the lungs, but the real cause was being thrown from a wagon loaded with lumber, a portion of which fell upon him, 13 years ago, causing injury from which he never recovered. Following a brief illness J. M. Montgomery, one of Kittitas Valley’s oldest residents died at the Ellensburg General Hospital Friday afternoon [October 29, 1937]. Mr. Montgomery was born at Scio, Linn County, Oregon, June 30, 1852. Until 1881 he lived with his family in Salinas, Calif., when he moved to Kittitas County where he lived the remainder of his 56 years. William Bilyeu, one of the oldest citizens of Linn County, died at his residence near Scio last Wednesday, aged 80 years [June 25, 1879]. He was perhaps the ancestor of the most numerous family in Oregon-the Bilyeu’s reaching over a hundred in number, nearly all of whom reside on the Forks of Santiam. Cecil A. Crume, 80, 3595 Bernard Ave., Albany, died suddenly Friday morning (Aug. 23) at the Albany General Hospital from a heart attack.
