J. R. Moser, marble-works, was born in Warren County, Iowa, July 2, 1853. Removed to Madison County. In May, 1877, moved to Rush County, Kan, and came to Mankato, Jewell County, in 1878, and in December, 1881, established himself in the marble business. He is now doing a splendid business, shipping tombstones to different points.
Baker City, Oregon Wilbur James McGaughey, 84, a longtime Baker City resident, died May 22, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, First and Church streets. The Rev. Robert C. Irwin will celebrate the Mass. John R. Beeching is a lawyer and since 1910 had been accumulating a large general practice and a rising reputation at the bar of Hutchinson. Mr. Beeching is a native Kansan, and represents a pioneer family in Rush County, where he was born February 19, 1884. He is the leading grain merchant and elevator proprietor of Robinson, Kansas, where he had built up a large and successful business.
