East Oregonian, August 30, 1991 John C. Snyder, 94, of Pendleton, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1991, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Hermiston. A graveside service will be held at Olney Cemetery on Saturday at 10 a.m. Friends may call at Bishop Funeral Chapel until 8 p.m. today. Mr. Snyder was born June 24, 1897 in Pendleton to Elmer and Margaret Schomerus Snyder. He grew up in Pendleton and attended local schools. Lydia Haslam, 89, of Pilot Rock, a former Baker City resident, died Aug. 1, 2003, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. Her funeral was Aug. 5 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church at Pilot Rock. Interment was at the Pilot Rock Cemetery. Mrs. Haslam was born on Sept. 22, 1913, at Baker City to Belgian immigrants, Alfonse and Irma Delepierre. She grew up in the Baker City area and was a graduate of St. Francis Academy at Baker City. She married Daniel Homer Haslam on Sept. 3, 1933. He died in 1982. William “Bill” Ellenberger, 82, Pendleton died Saturday [January 12] at Delamarter Care Center. Funeral will be 10 a.m., Tuesday at Folsom-Bishop Funeral Chapel with interment in Olney Cemetery, Pendleton. Ellenberger was a life-time resident of Umatilla County. He was born Oct. 1, 1897 in Pilot Rock. He was married to the former Grace Spencer who died in 1967. Ellenberger farmed in the Pilot Rock area for many years, then owned the Trailer Park in Pilot Rock. Fred P. Hunot, 44, died Saturday [March 14, 1943] in St. Anthony’s Hospital following an operation for appendicitis. He was born in Pilot Rock and had been a mechanic here for 25 years, owning his own shop, the Motor Inn Auto Repair. His friends were many and his death is the occasion for regret. Surviving are his widow; two sons, Frederick and Arthur Hunot; a daughter, Norma Hunot; his mother, Mrs. W. S.
