Richard Warfield, immigrant ancestor, located west of Crownsville, Anne Arundel, “in the woods,” in 1662. An old Warfield record claims that he settled near Annapolis in 1639, but there was no settlement there at the time, and he was not among the first settlers in 1649. His estate reached back to Round Bay. of the Severn. Charles H. Garlock, who has for many years served as trustee of the village of Phelps, Ontario county, New York, and is prominently connected with the financial and commercial interests of the county, is a descendant of one of the early Dutch settlers of this country, his greatgreat-grandfather having come to America from Holland. Another of his ancestors was Peter Cook, who was a native of New Jersey. Mr. Garlock was elected president of the village of Phelps, in March, 1911.
