Hon. John E. Frost, born April 22, 1849, in Rome, New York, played a pivotal role in Topeka’s commercial and civic life for over thirty years through his work with the Santa Fe Railroad Company. A descendant of influential colonial families, he was deeply involved in local affairs, serving as land commissioner and leading various civic initiatives. A graduate of Hamilton College, he engaged in numerous prestigious organizations and projects, including the Y.M.C.A. and the National Historical Society, leaving a lasting legacy in Kansas.
