Neeley, Francis M. – Obituary

La Grande, Oregon Frances M. Neeley, 83, of La Grande died Aug. 23 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial took place at 9 this morning at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A graveside service will begin at noon Monday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Mrs. Neeley was born June 11, 1923, to Frank Kovenz and Anna Schmidt in Billings, Mont. MRS. ARETHUSA E. SMITH. – Arethusa E., the daughter of Daniel Lynn, was born near Warsaw, Benton County, Missouri, June 12, 1834. As a child of six years she removed with her parents to Platte county, in the same state, remaining until 1844, the year memorable for the great flood. S.E. JOSEPHI, M.D. – Simeon Edward Josephi was born in the city of New York on December 3, 1849. His father, Edward Josephi, was a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, but left that country with his parents for England when a boy. He afterwards came to New York, where he embarked in the jewelry business, becoming a prominent wholesale jeweler of that city and San Francisco.
