Joel O. Chastain, 67, a life-long resident of Tygh Valley where he was a dairyman and farmer, died Wednesday [May 17, 1961] in Portland after a long illness. Mr. Chastain was a member of the Tygh Valley Methodist Church and the Old Wasco County Pioneer Association. Surviving are his widow, Laura, of Tygh Valley; a daughter, Mrs. Nina Teschner, and two grandchildren, Tonya and Jola Teschner of Portland; three brothers, Frank of Yakima, John of Newport and Liberty Chastain of Harper, Ore.; and two sisters, Mrs. Effie Knighten and Mrs. Nina New, both of Harper. Buffam, David Clarence, Sr. – Obituary

David Clarence Buffam, Sr., 75, died April 9, 2005, in the nursing home in Enterprise. He was born to Lois (Ratty) and Clarence Buffam in Portland on March 1, 1930. After graduating in 1948 from Beaverton High School, he attended the University of Oregon, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and later attended Vanport College. In 1950 he married Patricia Johnston. They moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where Mr. Buffam was serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and then to Beaverton where he served in the Oregon Air National Guard. Storm, Myrtha Lee – Obituary

Myrtha Lee Storm, 79, died Feb. 5, 2008. She was born Oct. 20, 1928, to Jesse William Poulson and Vella Boswell Poulson in Steamboat Springs, Colo. As a young girl, Myrtha and her family moved to Oregon, where she attended a one-room grade school in Imnaha. Some of her high school years were spent at Lincoln High in Portland. She returned to Wallowa County for graduation from Enterprise High in 1946. Myrtha and Robert Storm attended Eastern Oregon College following Bob’s discharge from the Army.
