Holcomb, Margaret Hutchins Baird Mrs. – Obituary

McEwen, Oregon Margaret Holcomb, 94, died July 13, 2004. A celebration of her life will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McEwen Bible Fellowship. There will be a potluck dinner afterward. She and her twin sister, Margie, were born on June 30, 1910, at Newberg to Homer and Effie Hutchins. She married Vero Baird in 1927. They had three children: Robert, Corinne and Phillip. In 1946, she married Ralph P. Holcomb. They had a daughter, Nancy. Ralph died on Dec. 17, 1997. Margaret, who was lovingly known as “Maggie,” was a cafeteria cook at Churchill School for many years. … Read more

Baker City, Oregon Joe E. Harrison, 85, died at his home in Baker City on Jan. 22, 2003. At his request, there will be no funeral. An urn burial will take place later at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Joe E. Harrison was born on Dec. 24, 1917, at Wallowa to John Baker Harrison and Lula Jane Markham Harrison. Harold R. “Hal” Monroe, 88, who with his wife founded the McEwen Bible Fellowship in the 1950s, died June 6, 2005, surrounded by family and his faithful dog, Ginger. His memorial service was June 17 at the Roseburg Christian Fellowship. He was born on July 28, 1916, at Orland, Calif. He was raised on a nursery in California and loved fruit. He worked for Douglas Aircraft for 26 years, retiring on June 6, 1976, as branch manager of telemetry and radio communications. Charles Rodney “Rod” Dickison, 77, of Baker City, died Sept. 10, 2005, at his home. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Agape Christian Center, 650 Highway 7.
