Janice “Jannie” Lynn Hindman, formerly of La Grande, died of natural causes on Sept. 25 at her home in Lincoln City. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City. Family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance gathering Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the home of Ray and Carol Westenskow at 1502 Fourth St. in La Grande. Carol Anne (Smith) Hutson, 63, of Kennewick and formerly of La Grande, died May 9 after a long illness. A private memorial service was held earlier in the month at Hillcrest Memorial Center in Kennewick. Carol was born Aug. 20, 1944, to Sherman Elton Smith and Josephine Amanda Thorpe in McMinnville. She married Richard Hutson. They later divorced. A retired library custodian and homemaker, Carol enjoyed rock hunting and arts and crafts projects. Formerly of La Grande 1926-2009 James D. Young, 82, of Lincoln City and formerly of La Grande, died Jan. 29 at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles. A graveside service was held today at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Holman, Hankins, Bowker and Waud is in charge of arrangements. James was born Nov. 20, 1926, in La Grande. Bilyeu, Joseph A. – Obituary

Joseph A. Bilyeu, 94, at 3730 Auburn Road NE, died Wednesday at his residence. He was born and raised in Scio. He lived in Western Washington for many years, later worked in Portland shipyards and lived in Lincoln City 10 years before coming to Salem. He was a mail carrier and dairyman in Washington.
