Emma Louella Wright, 91, of La Grande, a former Baker City resident, died June 15, 2005, at a La Grande care center. A graveside service and celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Abbey View Memorial Park in Brier, Wash. Arrangements are under the direction of Loveland Funeral Chapel in La Grande. Emma Louella Wright was born on Nov. 21, 1913, at Glasgo, Mont. She was the oldest of eight children born to Pete and Minnie Hill Edd. Peder Pedersen Dies In Seattle. Pioneer Kittitas Valley Farmer Succumbs Last Night. Peder Pedersen, 76, a Kittitas Valley pioneer, died in the Swedish Hospital in Seattle last night [May 25, 1941] after an illness of about a week. He came to the Kittitas Valley in 1889 and farmed in the Denmark District for many years. He was born in Denmark in 1865. He lived in the valley from the time he arrived here in 1889, but during the last few years frequently visited his children in Portland. Born Dec. 31, 1892 in Ellensburg, Wash. Passed away Nov. 1, 1974 in Seattle, Wash., at the age of 81. He operated a farm at Colockum Creek outside of Wenatchee, Wash., for many years. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War I. In 1940 he moved to Alderwood Manor, and later to Edmonds, where he operated his own ranch until 1948. Mary Ann Page, 85, died Thursday [October 26, 1978] at a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 10, 1893 at Getchell, Wash. She and Alfred O. Page were married in Seattle on September 24, 1912. They came to the Ellensburg area in 1919 and farmed on Route 3. Following the death of Mr. Page in April, 1964, she moved to town and made her home at 312 North Anderson until entering the nursing home.
