Miner Found Shot Through His Head Henry Eppinger of Conner Creek Victim The dead body of Henry Eppinger was found at a cabin on Connor Creek near Huntington last Thursday, and whether the case was one of suicide or accident will probably never be known. The man was shot through the temple while lying on a bunk, and was alone when the shot was fired, it is stated. The revolver was in his hand. Huntington IOOF Cemetery, Huntington, Oregon

The IOOF Lodge of Huntington established a cemetery one-half mile east of town on the north side of U. S. Highway No. 30. This cemetery followed the earlier Old Huntington Cemetery which was already established closer to town. Land for the cemetery was donated by the lodge. The cemetery is on high and dry land which is cared for by the lodge, relatives and friends maintaining the graves. There are approximately 150 graves in this cemetery. Old Huntington Cemetery, Huntington, Oregon

The Old Huntington Cemetery is located just south of town, being 3-1/2 blocks south of old Highway 30 at the junction of the old pioneer freight road reservoir. This is an early pioneer cemetery. The cemetery is small and is fenced. It is not maintained but is on dry land needing little attention. About five years ago the cemetery was badly vandalized by high school boys who removed the stones and threw them into a canyon, breaking them. The pieces were later returned.
