William H. Moffit. In the group of surviving territorial pioneers of Kansas, William H. Moffit of Highland Park, a suburb of Topeka, has an important place. Mr. Moffit carries within his individual recollection practically the entire story of Kansas from the beginning of the border warfare until the present, a period of fully fifty years. Word has been received here of the death of Mr. T. P. Morrow of Swedesburg which occurred Thursday afternoon, Jan. 4th [1906] at three o’clock after a long illness of paralysis. He has been a resident of Henry County for many years and his many friends will be grieved to learn of his death. Obituary of Benjamin Bowen Allender

B. B. Allender, an old citizen of this county, died at his home near the southeast corner of Trenton township on last Thursday evening [June 22, 1882]. He was a man of sterling integrity, respected and esteemed by all who knew him and will be sadly missed in the neighborhood where he lived. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon. Logsdon, Lemuel – Obituary

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Cookes Funeral home for the late Lemuel F. Logsdon of near Mt. Pleasant, Ia. The Rev. Thorwald Jensen, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, was in charge. A vocal duet “We are Going Down the Valley,” was sung by Robt. Forbes and Rev. Jensen. Two vocal solos were also sung by Mr. Forbes. They were “Under His Wings” and “Abide With Me.” Miss Judith Peterson was the accompanist. Rev. Allender, George – Obituary

Largely attended funeral services were held Friday for the late George Allender, who passed away at the home of his son, Lawrence, north of Lockridge, on November 13. At ten-thirty a short service was held at the house. Pastor Frank Weston of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, read the scriptures and spoke from Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Pastor J. A. Cochrane of the Lockridge Baptist Church made a prayer.
