Vera L. Schneider, 97, passed away at Glisan Health Care Center in Portland, Ore., on June 3, 2008. Vera was born and raised at Pine, Ore. (Pine Town), on April 6, 1911, to the late Walter and Anna McFadden Blacker. She graduated from the Halfway High School. In 1937 she married Gerald Schneider, they lived in Cornucopia, Ore., until the mines were closed. They moved to Portland where she spent the remainder of her life as a homemaker. A graveside celebration of Jeanne’s life took place today at Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway. Jeanne was born Jan. 31, 1921, and raised in Halfway, where she married “Danny” Daniels and had three children. After Danny’s death in 1953 she had to go to work and raise her children.
