Biographical Sketch of Hiram W. Oliver

Hiram W. Oliver, born in Indiana in 1827, moved to Illinois in 1849 before relocating to Iowa in 1853. In 1864, he settled in Oregon’s Grande Ronde Valley, where he established a sawmill and engaged in extensive farming. Oliver married Julia McCaleb in 1856, with whom he had seven children before her passing in 1874. He later wed Maria L. Burt, and they have three children together. Oliver owns over 1,000 acres of timberland and raises high-quality livestock.
