Was born in Greenbrier county, West Virginia, September 18, 1826. His parents, Charles and Margaret Rodgers, were also natives of Virginia. He was educated in the common schools of his native State, and when twenty years old, began clerking in a dry goods store and was so employed for a few years. Was born in Tazewell county, Virginia, October 21, 1842. His parents, Peter E. and Mary Wynn, were natives of. the same State. He was educated in the common schools of Virginia, and moved with his parents to Missouri in 1853 and settled in Grundy county, and one year later came to this county. Wynn, in his native county until his twentieth year, when he accompanied them to Missouri.
